Mr. Nyambe Lyoko is a pharmacist by profession and currently serves as the Director of Marketing Authorisation at the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA). He leads the Authority’s work in the evaluation and approval of medicines and allied substances to ensure that medical products being made available in Zambia meet the required standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.

In this role, Mr. Lyoko oversees key regulatory functions including marketing authorisation of medicines and allied substances, pharmacovigilance, and the regulation of clinical trials. He has played an important role in initiatives aimed at improving regulatory efficiency and enhancing stakeholder engagement with the pharmaceutical industry to facilitate timely access to safe and effective medicines.

He also contributes to continental and regional regulatory cooperation and harmonisation efforts within the African Medicines Agency (AMA), Southern African Development Community (SADC) joint collaborative initiative (ZAZIBONA), supporting collaboration among medicines regulatory authorities in the region.

Through his work, Mr. Lyoko remains committed to strengthening medicine regulation and advancing public health protection in Zambia.
